New Volunteer Walkaround
Held on the first Tuesday of each month, this is a great and relaxed way to get started. You will:
● Meet the team
● Look around the farm
● Find out what volunteering involves
● Ask any questions
We welcome individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. Whether you’ve never gardened before or already love growing, you’ll find a place here - and New Volunteer Walkaround is the perfect first step.
What you’ll be doing
The day-to-day life of a working community farm involves different tasks that change with the seasons:
● Having tea, coffee and biscuits at 11.30
● Preparing beds and woodchiping pathways
● Sowing seeds and planting out seedlings
● Harvesting fresh veg for our veg bags (Wednesdays & Thursdays)
● Weeding and caring for growing crops
● Occasional practical jobs like tidying or simple DIY projects
There’s always a mix of jobs to suit different abilities.
Come regularly or just drop in for an hour when you want — there’s no minimum commitment.
