There are lots of ways you can join in and help out at Farnham Community Farm. Just sign up as a supporter member to be eligible for regular volunteering and events.
On the Farm
Every Tuesday and Thursday, and one evening a week in summer, we have volunteers help out in the field. There's always a range of tasks on offer to suit all abilities. Activities include seed sowing, soil preparation, infrastructure building, bagging up veg and harvesting. Some of our volunteers bring their children to help them connect with nature and learn where their food comes from. We often have work parties at weekends too to get big one-off jobs completed, such as putting up sheds. We are hugely appreciative of our volunteers and couldn't do it without them!
Tuesday: 10am-4pm (later in summer)
Thursday harvesting: 8am-4pm
Thursday evening: in summer, details tbc
Friday: 10am-4pm (later in summer)
On the first Saturday of every month (from April) we get together in the field at West Farm. Come along and get your hands in the soil and help with the growing tasks, or simply join us for a cup of tea or some homemade lunch. Park at Packhouse overflow car park for these events.
at veg pick up
Every Thursday 4-8pm (from 5th April) we distribute our weekly veg shares from the Summerhouse at Packhouse Antiques. If you like chatting to people, and perhaps helping to sell some surplus veg, manning our pickup point could be an option for you. You don't have to do the entire slot; any time you can offer is appreciated.
We hold regular social and fundraising events for our members and for the public, such as the Sustainability Fayre in Gostrey Meadow. If you enjoy talking to the public, you're passionate about the local food movement or you have skills and experience organising events, then we would love to hear from you!
